About this course
Anyone wishing to pursue a career as a Door Supervisor in the UK, needs a licence to practice issued by the Security Industry Authority (SIA). To enable you to apply for a licence you must complete an approved Door Supervisor’s training course, in order to obtain the qualifications required. The BIIAB Level 2 Award in Door Supervision is a nationally recognised qualification designed for those who wish to work in the industry.
The course is regulated by the SIA and externally assessed by the Awarding Body. The qualification is awarded to learners who successfully complete all four modules.
The following four modules are covered in the course:
- – Working in the Private Security Industry
- – Working as a Door Supervisor
- – Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry
- – Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry
What support material is available?
To assist you during the course you will be provided with a course workbook which will include three of the required modules, the 4th module (Physical Intervention) is delivered on the 4th day. Students are provided with Workbooks. None of the books are purchased by the student but provided upon booking.
How is it assessed?
Working in the Private Security Industry module, Working as a Door Supervisor & Conflict Management for the Private Security Industry modules are all assessed by multiple choice examinations.
The Physical Intervention Skills for the Private Security Industry module is assessed by practical assessments throughout the training.
This qualification, which is worth 4 credits at Level 2, follows the SIA’s specification and the unit structure reduces overlap between subject areas making it easier for learners to gain qualifications for additional sectors (CCTV, Security Guarding etc) as they will only need to sit the additional units.
