Vehicle Immobilisation
Level 2 Award in Vehicle Immobilisation
The BTEC Award in Vehicle Immobilisation has been designed to provide essential basic information, skills and knowledge required when working as a Vehicle Immobiliser in the private security sector, to meet training and qualification criteria defined by The SIA (Security Industry Authority). Successful completion of the course allows registration for a license to practice. The course is divided into 3 units that are assessed by a multiple choice examination.

Unit 1 - Working in the Private Security Industry
Intended for people who want to work in the private security industry and who require an SIA licence to practise. It covers those areas of content that are common across different sub-sectors: door supervision, security guarding, CCTV operations, vehicle immobilisation, and cash and valuables in transit.
Unit 2 - The Vehicle Immobiliser
The Vehicle Immobiliser Candidates will investigate the role of a Vehicle Immobiliser. They will learn about the equipment that they will be required to use, including how to attach and remove vehicle clamps. They will gain knowledge of relevant legislation attached to vehicle immobilisation, learn how to comply with working practices, and how to complete appropriate documentation once qualified.

Unit 3 - Conflict Management
Candidates will learn how to minimise conflict in aggressive situations. They will be required to observe, discuss and participate in scenario situations to raise awareness of situations likely to lead to conflict, and allow them to apply knowledge of effective communication skills and conflict management to defuse these situations.
